An education in environmental science and economics, as well as early work in land-use planning, urban design, and mobile technology, taught me that the thoughtful design of spaces and objects can elevate our humanity. After more than a decade of work, I reached the limit of what I could do in those fields and, seeking restoration, returned to my heritage in the outdoors and handcraft. I developed skills in the simple, functional design of objects for outdooring, where I was able to put my values into play for myself and others. Since then, I have worked to develop my practice and continue to explore what is possible at the intersection of art and design, industrial process, and natural materials.
My work spans a variety of media, styles, and approaches, but through all of it I seek to help myself and others find resonant ways to live better on Earth. You can explore selected projects below, visit my craft company Daggerfish, or contact me if you’d like to learn more.
